Abstract

On August 19 and 20, 2021, the University of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas and the Colegio de Michoacán, held a special edition in the framework of the bicentennial of the Central American Independence and the south of Mexico, the Central American Congress of History, for the first time and in a historic way, we were fortunate to have a table on the religious phenomenon, in which researchers from the region were invited to share through papers and panels, advances, completed research projects, graduate, master's and doctoral theses, in order to know the state of the art of religious studies in these 200 years since the proclamation of the Act of Independence in the Captaincy General of Guatemala. The same took place through a zoom platform, within the framework of the pandemic by covid 19, being transmitted by the social network Facebook.

    Historiador por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras y Máster en Historia y Antropología de América por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Es docente investigador deUnitec, campus Tegucigalpa y tutor de la Universidad Virtual CEUTEC-Honduras. Ha realizado diversas investigaciones: sobre las relaciones entre Iglesia y Estado en Honduras en los siglos XIX y XX; sobre el crecimiento de la población protestante en Honduras y el movimiento pentecostal en perspectiva comparada: Honduras, El Salvador y Nicaragua en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Actualmente estudia la función de las mega Iglesias, diásporas, misiones, imaginarios de evangelización y circuitos de liderazgo en Centroamérica en un análisis comparado con México y Argentina; y, por último, ostenta la presidencia de la RECIFRE, Red Centroamericana de Investigadores del Fenómeno Religioso.
